About the Artist
I AM AMY RUANA THUREEN (A.R.T),
An Artist, Transracial International Adoptee, Wife, and my absolute favorite title, Mom.
My love for photography began when I was a little girl.
My grandfather introduced me to the craft when I was only 5 years old. I was fascinated with the process of developing film and printing an image.
I still love and actively create images using various types of film and mixed media.
For over the past decade, photography has been my way of sharing my voice and vision with the world.
Artist Statement
ART Intimates gets its name from the
owner + Artist, Amy Ruana Thureen.
Inspired by: Mosaics, Renaissance, Baroque, Rococo, Romanticism, both Impressionism + post-impressionism, Deco, and Pop Art time periods.
Amy uses light as her focus medium to create artwork inspired by various eras.
Aiming to dismantle traditional beauty standards,
Amy focuses on showcasing the unique beauty and intimate
details of each individual. Allowing her to create timeless
custom artwork that continues to remind them of the stunning masterpiece they are.
